Kenyan export Telvin Maina Irungu has officially signed a professional contract with FUFA Big League side Arua Hill Sports Club.
Irungu had signed for Arua Hill Junior team (U-17) from Kisumu All Stars in November this year after previously being on the books of National Super League sides Kangemi All Stars and FC Talanta.
The Kenya youth international who clocked 18 years last Saturday, couldn’t hide his excitement to over signing the three years contract.
“I’m grateful to turn 18 because, I feel mature enough for the big stage and signing my professional contract at Arua Hill. I feel grateful and I can’t wait to unfold the new chapter. I am prepared but I also believe time and training will make everything right,” he told the club media.
His ability to pass the ball, dribble past opponents with ease, comfortability with both feet, strength and tackling skills also makes him thrive as a box to box midfielder.
Telvin will fight for a starting spot in the squad with another off-season signing in Gadafi Gadinho and Rashid Kawawa due.
“I learned a lot from Gadafi and Kawawa because they’ve been playing around and in this stage for some time and years, but for me I am just new in the system, I hope to learn more and adopt to the system, and who knows with time I might be the one playing mainly in there,” he added.
Telvin has represented the Kenya U-17 national team three times and also captained Ruaraka All-Stars Youth Team to the Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) Championship in Kenya.
Other new recruits at the club include Paddy Muhummuza, Samson Ceaser Okhuti, goalkeeper Franco Oringa, Alfred Leku, Sabir Edema, Baden Mujahid Ogama, Dan Birikwalira, Rashid Agau, Isaac Mulindwa, among others.
