Kefa Kisala Rejoins BUL FC

Kefa Kisala has agreed a deal to return to his former team, BUL Football Club as the head coach ahead of next Uganda Premier League season.

The Jinja-based club have confirmed the news on Wednesday indicating Kisala returns to the club on a 2-year contract agreement.

In a statement released by the club, Kisala will take on the mantle as head coach from Frank “Video” Anyau who was sacked last season.

“BUL Football Club, a top division Jinja based Football team has today Wednesday 5th July, 2017 named Kefa Kisala as the new head coach, ahead of the forthcoming 2017/18 Azam Uganda premier league that is due August this year,” reads part of the statement.

Kisala could not hide his delight about re-joining a team he once coached and promised to deliver as per expectations.

“I am delighted re-joining one of the best football clubs currently in Uganda, can’t wait to get started,” said Kisala.

“BUL FC is one football team with great potential and joining this big club is a dream come true,” he added.

The soft spoken tactician has been on the side-lines for close to 5 months since his sacking at URA FC on 27th February 2017.

BUL struggled under Anyau last season languishing in the drop zone for the big part of the season and only survived the drop by a whisker.

This prompted the club administration to sack him midway and the team was left under the hands of assistant coach Peter Onen.

Kisala’s maiden stint at BUL came in 2012 and worked at the club for three years until February 7, 2015 when he was sacked after a loss to then Fufa Big league side JMC Hippos in the Uganda Cup.

He has formerly coached Express URA FC and defunct Masaka Local Council among others.

Club CEO, Salim Saleh believes Kisala is the right man to bring back BUL to the status they deserve.

“Kisala is one of the few talented football coaches with vast experience in Uganda every team would wish to have as their head coach, we’ll give him all the necessary support and backing in execution of his duties at BUL FC to make sure we raise again,” Saleh said.
