The Uganda Premier League secretariat has confirmed that the much-awaited clash between current table leaders KCCA FC and Vipers SC has changed dates.
The game was scheduled for Friday 5th April but will now be played a day earlier on Thursday 4th.
UPL based their decision to move the fixture on the upcoming FIFA Women Olympics qualifier between the Crested Cranes and Ethiopia that is scheduled for Saturday 6th at the same venue – the StarTimes stadium in Lugogo.
“We have received a communication from FUFA Secretariat indicating that Uganda will be hosting Ethiopia in the FIFA Women Olympics Qualifiers on 6th April 2019 at StarTimes Stadium- Lugogo,” revealed the secretariat in a communique.
They added that, “Accordingly, match#197 KCCA FC Vs Vipers SC that was scheduled to be played on Friday 5th April 2019 has been pulled back by a day to Thursday 4th April 2019 to allow the visiting team to train at the venue as per CAF Rules on Friday 5th April 2019, 4:00 PM.”
KCCA FC leads the table with 49 points, four more than the defending champions with only seven games left to end the season.
