As the preparations for the Financial Reporting Awards (FiRe) organized by the Institute of the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda take shape, Kampala Capital City Authority has heaped praises on the institute for the crucial achievement.
According to the organizers, KCCA believes participating in the Financial Reporting Awards has helped them improve trust with stakeholders.
Commenting on the Awards, CPA Donny Muganzi Kitabire the Ag. Director Treasury Services at KCCA, noted that it has led to improved financial statements that have kept maintaining the Authority’s position of excellence.
“There is continuous improvement in the preparation of financial statements, to maintain KCCA’s position of excellence among similar entities,” said Kitabire.
Kitabire also congratulated ICPAU upon achieving such a tremendous milestone over the last 10 years.
ICPAU will be holding its 10th edition of the annual FiRe awards on November 3, 2020, running under the theme ‘10 years of enhanced financial reporting: gliding with excellence into the future.’
Introduced in 2011, the Awards are aimed at enhancing the quality of financial and business reporting in Uganda by encouraging the implementation of international financial reporting standards as well as best practices in financial reporting.
The awards are presented to different companies, organizations and individuals who excel in financial statements with the up- to- date reports using modern skills and techniques.
Participation in the FiRe awards is open to the public and private sector organizations as well as Not-for-profit organizations among others and only required to submit the 2019 audited annual report.
