Uganda Cup holders Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) kick start their title defence with a trip Western Uganda.

KCCA FC will take on lowly side Mbarara FC at the round of 64 on Saturday at Kakyeka stadium with a target of progressing.

Mike Mutebi goes into the game with hopes of progressing and ll believes he has a good team to get him the results.

“We go into today’s game with one target and that is to advance to take next stage and that calls for maximum focus,” he said.

However, the Lugogo based side travelled with a depleted team with several key players left in Kampala.

Derrick Nsibambi, Saddam Juma, Muzamir Mutyaba and Muhammad Shaban who were part of the Cranes team that played at the CHAN tournament in Morocco are sidelined with injuries.

New recruit Thomas Ikara did not make the trip as well with Mutebi choosing Jamal Maliyungu and Charles Lukwago.

The other notable game to be played on Saturday will see Vipers make a daunting trio to Kasese to play regional league side SC Bronken.

New recruit, Dan Mzee Sserunkuma from Express FC is expected to make his competitive debut
