KCCA FC Out To Bridge Gap In Title Race As They Host Mbarara

Tuesday, April 3rd
KCCA FC vs Mbarara City, 4 PM

KCCA FC will hope to keep pressure on leaders SC Villa with a victory against visitors Mbarara City FC in the Uganda Premier league game to be played this Tuesday at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
After starting the season slowly, KCCA FC have regained momentum and talk of retaining the league title have become the order of the day for the ‘Kasasiro’ fans.
However, if they are to win their 13th title, KCCA FC should provide no room for errors; they should make sure that their recent good form should remain intact.
KCCA have not lost a single game in their last seven league games since their 2-1 loss to Proline last year in November.
By the look of things, the visitors pose less threat to that record if we are to go with their recent blunders that have left the club at the edge of relegation door.
The Ankole lions are 12th with 22 points, three points below relegation and if all goes wrong, they might end the day in the dead zone.
The new comers have not won a league match in their last six tries, and to say worse, they have scored just one league goal on the road this season.
Matching the above poor form with KCCA FC’s organised defence that has not conceded a league goal in their last five games, surely many will believe with side with me that the odds are stuck in favour of the hosts.
In a pres briefing against this home game, Mutebi on his defence said:
“The team has become more organised defensively with and without the ball, Goalkeeper Lukwago has improved, every time he has been isolated in one on one situations, he has been outstanding.”
Mbarara City’s hope for a positive result must rely on the fact that they atleast drew their last game against URA FC, a match that ended the club’s four game loosing streak.
Also, the last and only time these two sides faced off in the league, Mbarara held KCCA FC to a goalless draw on November 28th, last year.
