Youngster Allan Okello proved the difference on Thursday evening as KCCA FC edged rivals SC Villa in the top of the table clash encounter at Lugogo.
Okello came off the bench at the start of the second half replacing Jackson Nunda to score the lone goal as KCCA FC picked all three points.
KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi was full of praise for the creative midfielder who he referred to as a phenomenal.
“He is intelligent, special, talented and a joy to watch. I have said this time and again. Despite his age, his abilities, game reading and mental strength are out of this world,” said Mutebi.
The manager indicated that now that Okello is done with his studies (Secondary School level), he believes he will offer more.
“We did not want to rush him because he was in S.6 and we believe education is important so we gave him time to concentrate. But now that he is free at the moment, I believe he will offer a lot,” Mutebi asserted.
Okello struck home from a free kick with four minutes on the clock to help KCCA FC bridge the gap on leaders SC Villa to just one point yet with a game in hand.
Mutebi also spared time to praise goalkeeper Charles Lukwago who was named the Forte Bet man of the match for the several saves he made.
KCCA FC will return to action on Sunday with a trip to Gayaza to face Simba FC in the Uganda Cup round of 32.
