In a quest to defend the Azam Uganda Premier League and also flourish on the African Continent, reigning Uganda Cup Champions Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) have boosted their squad depth.
The Lugogo based Club has signed Allan Katergga, who many prefer to call the Dancing Rasta, attributing it to his playing style and his dreadlocks.
“Midfielder Allan Kateregga joins KCCA FC on loan from @AFCLeopards,” confirmed KCCA FC on their Twitter handle.
Kateregga joins KCCA FC on loan from Kenyan giants AFC Leopards.
He signed a 4-month contract, but KCCA FC may make the deal permanent.
“We have today completed a loan transfer for Allan Kateregga to join KCCA of Uganda until the end of season. We wish him well at his new club,” AFC Leopards confirmed the deal.
Katerrega has scored 2 goals from 13 appearances for AFC Leopards this season.
KCCA FC beat other clubs like Yanga FC from Tanzania to the signature of Kateregga.
Trusted sources confirmed that the Ugandan had impressed the Yanga bosses when Leopards eliminated the Tanzanian giants in the SportPesa Super Cup semi-final at Uhuru Stadium on Thursday.
However, reports in Kenya had it that AFC Leopards coach Robert Matano had some misunderstandings with his player Kateregga, an exit was nevitable.
In a recent game against Bandari, the midfielder came on as a second half substitute but was withdrawn again in the 88th minute and replaced by Andrew Tololwa, a decision which annoyed the player.
Kateregga, born in 1994 has previously played at SC Victoria University, Tusker FV and Ushuru FC.
