The Newly appointed Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority Ms. Dorothy Kisaka has met with the archbishop of Church of Uganda, Rev. Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu and discussed various issues including the recent demolition of St Peter’s Church of Uganda in Ndeeba, Kampala.
The ED paid a courtesy call on the Archbishop at the provincial offices in Namirembe, Rubaga division Kampala.
Kazimba was in company of the Namirembe Diocese Bishop Rt. Rev. Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira and his team.
“Our discussions focused on various issues including the unfortunate incident of Ndeeba— a saddening event that could have been resolved amicably through dialogue,” Ms Kisaka said after the meeting
“What is redemptive is that the Authorities, the Police and the Anti-corruption unit are taking on this matter as we collaborate with them and other arms of administration of justice to ensure that the right thing is done for the people who were affected.”
According to Kisaka, her approach as a new leader, is to encourage alternative dispute resolution. She promised to establish a forum where ideas shall be drawn from the spiritual leaders in building the City.
She further thanked the Church of Uganda for the support that they have rendered to KCCA over the years saying that she has heard it from her predecessor that the Church has been very supportive of the transformation work in the City as well as spiritually.
