KCCA crack hard Kirinya’s defence to maintain lead

Two beautiful goals by Sulaiman Mutyaba enabled KCCA FC to pick a crucial win in Jinja against Kirinya Jinja SSS.

Mutyaba had made several close attempts early in the game but was denied by youngster Sanon Mugabi who produced three spectacular saves.

However, the keeper’s resilience lasted for only for 26 minutes before Mutyaba could find his way. The striker calmly picked the ball from near 30 yards, dribbled through two and hit but it kissed the outside of the post as it flew out with Mulabi well beaten.

The striker was back at it seconds later from another of KCCA FC’s attacks thereafter, won the ball from about 35 yards and lobbed it over Mulabi who had moved from his lines.

Mutyaba completed his brace early in the second half in another goal melee. Muwadda Mawejje had lofted in a sumptuous curling cross that found Mulabi in unchartered zones but Kawawulo trecked back and cleared it over the line. Muzamir Mutyaba picked the rebound and powered in but the keeper was equal to the task. Mutyaba found the floating ball, packaged it and blasted it through a forest of red shirts and into the net.

Kirinya had several open chances to pull back but Madondo and Sewava missed from very close range.

The win lifts KCCA to 52 points, maintaining the four-point gap with second-placed Vipers SC.
