Chief of Defence Forces, Gen David Muhoozi has said the jailed former Inspector General of Police General Kale Kayihura has a right to bail like any other citizen.
The CDF’s comments come just a day after the embattled former IGP was presented for the first time before the General Court Martial in Makindye and read charges, ever since he was arrested in June.
Muhoozi said the arraignment of Kayihura had brought an end to the endless speculations.
“General Kayihura was presented yesterday to end speculation on when he would be charged” Gen. Muhoozi said
He pointed out that like any other citizen in Uganda country, General Kayihura is entitled to bail if he satisfies the court where he is appearing.
Kayihura was accused with failure to protect war materials and aiding kidnap bye the army court, which charges he denied.
Kayihura was arrested with other senior police officers and according to the army commander most have been charged in courts of laws.
