Kawempe Muslim Dominate Crested Crane Squad for Kenya Game

2015/16 Fufa women elite league champions Kawempe Muslim SS have dominated the 26-lady squad that will travel to Kenya on Friday 1st July to play in an international friendly later on Sunday in Kisumu town.

Two time league Most Valuable Player, treatment Hasfa Nassuna and top scorer Sandra Nabweeteme will lead the troop which is only returning to international football after a three year stay in the cold.

She Corporates’ Fatuma Matovu who claimed the golden gloves for least goals conceded will compete for a place in between the sticks alongside Kawempe’s most trusted number one Ruth Aturo.

While addressing the media, She Crested Cranes head coach Majida Nantanda also introduced a rare name in the local scene, Natasha Shirazi who plies her trade in Denmark for Ballerupskovlude Foothold BSF. Shirazi is already in the country.

“It is a pleasure to announce the Crested Cranes team. We have included one player who is based in Denmark for her experience and exposure. She is in the country,” Majida told media.

The team will group up on Wednesday for nonresidential training at the Lugogo artificial turf.

Uganda will be using the friendly to prepare for the Cecafa women’s tournament to be held in the country in September while the Kenyans are building up for 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) that is set for Cameroon from 19 November to 3 December.
