Nakawa grade one magistrate Noah Sajjabbi has set December 21st to deliver a ruling in which 14 people accused of murdering AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi want court to dismiss the charges against them.
These claim that prosecution failed to express interest in pursuing this case.
The applicants through their lawyers led by Anthony Wammeli asked court to dismiss the murder charges against them on grounds that they have already exceeded the mandatory period of six months of remand without being committed to High court for trial.
Meanwhile, two of the accused, Asuman Mugoya and Abdullah Kaala were today granted a non cash bail of 50million shillings.
But Kaala could not be released since he still has terrorism charges before the same court.
The magistrate ordered the prosecution to make sure that on 21st December, they send a representative who will inform court on the stage of investigations in the terrorism case.
Currently the prosecutors in the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) are still on strike, protesting poor working conditions and little pay.
