Kaweesi Murder Investigations “at Infant Stage”

Twenty people accused of being behind the murder of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi, his bodyguard Kenneth Erau and his driver Godfrey Wambewa have been remanded back to Luzira until 9th August 2017.

These are still waiting to be committed to High Court for trial any time after the conclusion of investigations in the matter by the state prosecution.

Today the suspects appeared in court ready for an update on the case from the prosecution.

The state Prosecutor in charge of this matter Rachel Nabwiire asked for another mention date of the case, saying investigations in the matter are still at an infant stage.

Nakawa Grade one Magistrate Noah Sajjabi thus sent back the accused persons on remand at Luzira prison until August 9, 2017 as they await committal to the trial court.

The accused including a woman are facing 3 grave counts including murder, terrorism and aggravated robbery which prosecution contends were committed on the 17th/March 2017 at Kulambiro Nakawa division in Kampala district.
