The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has called upon manufacturers in the various sectors to engage in partnerships with Buganda Kingdom if they want to improve their sales
Speaking at the closing of the 26th Uganda Manufacturers Trade fair at Lugogo UMA grounds, Mayiga noted that 70% of Uganda’s GDP is from the Buganda region and that the kingdom is ready for any reliable collaboration with anybody.
“Any product related to Kingdom readily finds market, we are looking for partners with whom we can avail land for development or those interested in commercial agriculture,” he said.
Mayiga further applauded Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) for their support towards the industrial sector which contributes significantly to national revenue and also is a source of employment to a very large number of Ugandans.
He thus called upon Ugandans to support local manufacturers especially those adding value to local products
UMA Chairperson Barbra Mulwana appreciated the Katikkiro for sparing time off his busy schedule to honour their invitation.
Mulwana further revealed to the Katikiro that they are working on a program aimed at placing competent students from higher institutions of learning into their factories.
