Visiting American Hip Hop artist Kanye West on Monday took time off his Album project to meet with President Yoweri Museveni.
The meeting according to the president’s press secretary Don Wanyama, took place at State House in Entebbe.
The discussion, Wanyama says, “revolved around tourism and the arts.”
The visitors gifted a pair of shoes to the President, while in in return handed them a copy of his book, Sowing the Mustard Seed.”
“I held fruitful discussions with the duo on how to promote Uganda’s tourism and the arts,” the president later tweeted.
“I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers. Enjoy your time in Uganda. It is the true Pearl of Africa.”
Also present at the Entebbe meeting was First Son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as well as other members of the First Family.
Kanye arrived in Uganda last week along with his wife Kim Kadarshian and rapper Big Sean.
These are camping at the Chobe Safari Lodge in Western Uganda, where they are shooting videos for the singer’s latest studio album Yandhi.
Both Kanye West and President Yoweri Museveni and are ardent supporters of US President Donald Trump and have often been criticized for it.
