Kanungu: Town Clerk Arrested for Embezzling Shs 400M

This was during the National Stakeholders’ workshop in preparation for the general elections at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala where EC was meeting candidates’ representatives at all levels.

Presidential and Parliamentary ballot papers are being printed in South Africa; LC V papers in Dubai while for LC III are being printed in London.

Kiggindu revealed that the printing is in its final stages and that they certainly would be delivered on time.

He however expressed concern over the delayed response by candidates to send representatives to the printers so as to supervise the on-going work.

“We sent out invitations to all candidates to send representatives to the printers but a few have responded.”

‘It’s one thing to go to South Africa and another to be able to verify whether the ballots being used are genuine; unless EC provides us with gadgets, we shall still not be able to know how genuine the ballots are,”
