Kanungu DPC Transferred in Police Reshuffle

SP Joab Wabwire the Kanungu District Police Commander has been transferred to Bukomansimbi in a mini reshuffle made by the Inspector General of Police general Edward Kale Kayihura on Tuesday.

Wabwire has been the DPC of the border district since January 2016, during which time the district  saw a number of kidnaps of Ugandans by armed Congolese.

The police managed to identify some of the accomplices in this wave of criminality, who included David Baranga the LC 1 chairman of Kyabuyorwa cell in Butogota Town council and Paul Ngorogoza the Butogota town council Internal Security Officer –GISO; who were arrested.

Another five people were arrested in connection with the abduction of one Mujuni John who was later discovered dead in the bushes of Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

In the 2 page police massage signed by Kayihura, SP Joab Wabwire will be replaced by Tigumenawe Julius who has been transferred from Hima in Kasese.

Meanwhile, the IGP moved  SSP Ibrahim Saiga from West Nile to Busoga East as regional police  commander, SP Julius Golobo from Busoga East to Bukedi  as RPC, SP Alfred Bagambaki from Bukedi  to Albertine as RPC , SP Jonathan Musinguzi from Arua to west Nile as RPC, SP Bernard Akankwasa  from      Bukomansimbi  to Hoima as DPC  and SP  Gad Murungi from Manafwa to Arua  as DPC among others.
