Darlene Kamusiime, one of the few women who expressed interest to stand for President in next year’s elections has pulled out of the race.
In a statement on Thursday Morning, Kamusiime announced she was quitting the race but gave no reasons.
“I thank my people and people’s empowerment teams countrywide. Thank you for the support you ushered me both physical and financial,” she said.
“And to my fellow colleagues in the struggle I wish you a smooth and peaceful run in 2021.”
In March this year, Kamusiime who hails from Makulubita, Katikamu in Luweero district wrote to the Electoral Commission about her intention to run for the highest office in the country.

These include Pamela Amolo, Phiona Mirembe, Maureen Kyalya, Faith Amaro, Elizaebth Katwe Lugudde, Brenda Katushemererwe, Nancy Linda Kalembe, Janet Kataha Komugisha and Grace Juliana Kabarungi.
