Kampala Night Run Lights Up City Streets

Hundreds of Kampalans showed up for the first ever Tusker Lite Night Run over the weekend coloring the streets.

The runners who later turned into partiers literally flooded the Kololo suburb where the run took place glowing thanks to the fancy ‘glow in the dark’ accessories every participant had obtained at Torino Bar and Restaurant; the event’s start and finish point.

The run gave participants the unique opportunity to break a sweat while simultaneously having fun, and with more than 100 police officers deployed to ensure security at every point of the route.

“We set out to push the boundaries and give Ugandans an experience they had never had before, and that is what the Tusker Lite Kampala Night Run has achieved today,” said Estella Muzito, Head of Beer at Uganda Breweries Limited.

She added, “This run was about fun, adventure amazing musical performances, because we believe the Tusker Lite consumer is hip and adventurous.”

After a lively race, the night proceeded to a colorful glow-in-the-dark after party where the finish point of the run lived up to the day’s ‘Lite the Nite’ theme as the evening’s runners-turned-partygoers showed off their dancing skills.
