January has had a number of shows and concerts but February has an avalanche of music and comedy shows lined up, most of which are scheduled for Valentine’s Day.
Kampala partiers are spoilt with choice on which one to attend and this has sparked off a discussion on why all the big artistes chose the same day.
There are over five events all slated for Valentine’s Day including comic Salvado’s Africa Laughs show. Salvado says he has been receiving mixed reactions from the public with many saying he is competing with Rema, who also has a show that very day.
Salvado has come out to refute claims, saying he is not in any way competing with any one and that it is by coincidence that his show is happening on Valentine’s Day.
The ‘man from Ombokolo’ also went on to narrate how Rema made his introduction ceremony to Daphine Frankstock memorable with a thrilling performance.
“So many stories have come out about our shows being on the same day and all I can say is that Kampala is big enough for all of us, all shows happening on Valentine’s Day will work out,” said Salvado.
He further said that Kololo Airstrip and Africana are not far apart and notified the ‘Clear’ artiste not to be surprised to see him and his crew at her concert.
Salvador who will be turning 35 years on Valentine’s Day will also be celebrating a decade since he traded his engineering job for comedy in a show dubbed ‘Singleton Africa Laughs’s season 5
Other shows slated to take place on Valentine’s Day at different venues around Kampala include ‘Rude Boy Live in Kampala,’ Maro’s and ‘Anjagala Live Concert’ among others.
