Police Crime Intelligence and the Flying Squad Unit have arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping his step son to secure a Shs 10 million ransom.

“The people (kidnappers) wrote and left behind a note with a telephone number. But unfortunately they did not report immediately to Police. They rang the number and the kidnappers asked them for a ransom,” said CID spokesperson ASP Charles Twine Mansio.
“They demanded for 10 million shillings which made the victims ponder until they reported to Natete police station,” he added.
Immediately, the Criminal Investigation Department and FSU took action to ensure that the child was traced and after days of tracking, he was got from Luwero district.
However, investigations established that the victim was a step son to Jamil Sebuliba, the husband to Sharifa.
The kid was recovered from the home of Sebuliba’s friend only identified as Mwanje in Luwero.
Police arrested Mwanje who confessed that the kid was handed to him by Sebuliba.
