All Saints Cathedral Kampala will celebrate Easter through the media due to COVID 19 lockdown.
This Sunday 12th April 2020, followers of Christ will across the world be celebrating His death and resurrection.
According to the statement issued by Kampala Diocese communications officer Ivan Naijuka, Christians will follow church proceedings online.
This is in respect to the presidential directives and Ministry of Health guidelines which prohibit gatherings of more than 5 people.
“As we continue to follow presidential directives and Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of not meeting more than 5 people, we shall celebrate Easter through media and our usual online streaming,” said Naijuka in a statement on Thursday.
The Archbishop of Church of Uganda who doubles as Bishop of Kampala Diocese, The Most Rev Dr Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu will deliver the Easter homily at the Cathedral in Nakasero at 11am.
The Christians will have to follow the proceedings via Facebook or YouTube (All Saint’s Cathedral Kampala) or livestream at https://allsaintskampala.org/live/.
Currently, Uganda has 53 COVID19 confirmed cases.
