Strikers, Derrick Kakooza and Ben Ocen were on target as Police registered a morale-boosting win to condemn URA (1-2) and re-awaken their league survival hopes away in Ndejje on Friday.
URA could have claimed at least a point but Daniel Isiagi failed to convert a penalty.
Kakooza drew first blood just after ten minutes of play, to put the Cops in the lead before the hosts would miss the penalty after Michael Birungi was brought down in the area.
However, URA’s efforts paid off as former Police FC midfielder, Hassan Kalegga drew matters level 12 minutes later.
In the 79th minute, Ben Ocen the visitor’s lead, subjecting URA to their first home defeat since shifting from Namboole at the start of the second round.
Ocen’s strike saw him move level on goals (12 goals) with Vipers’ Fahad Bayo, only a goal below Maroons’ top scorer, Steven Mukwala.
The defeat keeps URA positioned 5th on 40 points while Police jumps from the relegation zone dislodging Maroons in 13th with 25 points.

Elsewhere, ten man Vipers and Wakiso Giants fired blanks in a rain marred encounter played at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso.
Fahad Bayo was sent off by referee, Shamira Nabadda after an intended handball in the opponent’s half.
Vipers failed to stretch their lead at the top as the result puts them on 54 points with fellow title contenders, KCCA lying 2nd on 54 points.
Wakiso Giants goes on to 30 points in the 10th position.
