Kagadi Mothers Demonstrate as Nurses Hoard Babies’ Vaccines

Over 20 mothers on Thursday stormed the office of the LC3 chairperson Mpeefu sub county in Kagadi District to express their dissatisfaction over the conduct of workers at Mpeefu Health Center III, pharmacy who they accused of declining to vaccinate their children.

The angry parents who were carrying their babies, wanted an explanation from the sub county boss as to why they have missed the vaccination program that was planned for three months ago.

Robert Nkwasibe the sub-county chairperson told Chimpreports that he referred the angry mothers to the health assistant Silvano Tembo to explain to them why they were denied the vaccination and yet the health facility stocked enough vaccines.

One source at the health facility who spoke to us said health workers are taking the medicine to the door to door outreaches where they are given some money by abler parents.

The source says such money is given by some parents who do not want to waste time waiting the queue at the health facilities.

By publication, efforts to get a comment from the Assistant Health Inspector were futile since his known mobile phone was off.
