Kabale University Wins Round One Against Staff

High Court in Kabale has quashed with costs an application which was seeking an interim order restraining Kabale University administration from enforcing new appointments of the university bursar and secretary.

Kennedy Rwaboona Misindo, sale the former University Secretary and William Kururagire the former Director of Finance sought a restraint on their new appointments as deputy dean of students  and university bursar respectively, which they argued undermined their running contracts that ends in September 2017.

Their application however, was today thrown out by the Kabale deputy registrar Samuel Emokor, on grounds that at the time of filing, the two were no longer in their respective positions; as Kennedy Rwaboona Misindo had already been replaced with Naris Tibenderana while William Kururagire was also no longer the university director of finance as he has also been replaced with Robert Kabagambe.

“The status quo which the applicants were applying for in their application can’t be granted as by the time of filling in the application they were no longer in the positions,” said the registrar.

Kennedy Rwaboona while speaking to our reporter at the court said that the judgment wasn’t fair and that he expected it. He said however that they are now waiting for the main application   that is set for 7th November 2016 before the High Court.
