Kabale Student Killed in Road Accident

A third year student at Bishop Barham University on Monday perished in an accident at Nkumbura trading center along Kabale- Mbarara high way in Kabale district.

Elly Maate the Kigezi regional police spokesman identifies the deceased as Allan Ainebyoona, 24, a resident of Kiina- Nyakatooma cell in Maziba sub county.

The accident reportedly happened at around 5pm when the deceased who was riding a motorcycle number   UEY 236E was hit from behind by a truck number   UBF569E/UAW942T that was being driven by one Alex Twesigye of Wakiso.

“Both were heading in the same direction of Kabale and as the trailer was overtaking the motorcyclist, it squeezed him off the road and he fell into the rear tyres which smashed his head,” Maate said.

“Police visited the scene and the body was taken to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem and vehicles parked at police for inspection”
