Kabale Regional Hospital in Partial Shutdown as Health Workers Go in Quarantine

Kabale Hospital has announced that it is suspending all non-emergency services after quarantining several health workers and all patients in an entire ward.

The hospital which serves several district in south western Uganda, said it was temporarily suspending admission of all non-emergency services  to cope with the Covid19 emergency.

The Acting Kabale district Health Officer Alfred Besigensi says all patients with minor illness have been advised to seek medical services from their nearest health facilities.

Patients who hail from Kabale Municipality have been advised to start seeking medical services from Kamukiira Health IV in Kabale Municipality until further notice.

The development comes after a man was admitted in the general ward and later tested positive for Covid19.

A 56-year old man mingled with other patients and interacted with several health workers.

All the patients in this ward including those that had been discharged have been recalled and put under quarantine.
