Kabale: Radio Presenter, Fiancée Fake Kidnap

Police in Kabale is investigating a radio news anchor and his girlfriend for faking kidnap with intent to extort money.

The two are identified as Obadia Twinomubezi, a worker at Peak FM and a lady called Suzan Katushabe.

It is alleged that on 26th July they faked a kidnap in which Suzan Katushabe was reported to police as missing by her relatives.

According to police, it was reported that Suzan was kidnapped by two men who were demanding Shs 13 million as ransom.

Police spokesman CP Fred Enanga said that a mass search was mounted on Saturday and the victim was found hiding at her boyfriend’s residence.

Enanga also said that the two had faked the kidnap to extort money from Katushabe’s father who happens to be a rich businessman in Kabale town.

“We have arrested them for giving false information and conspiracy to defraud and we expect that anytime they will be charged to court,” Enanga said.
