Christians were left dumbfounded yesterday when the Reverand of Nyamwigura Church of Uganda Hamurwa Sub County Kabale District stormed out of the service after confusion erupted in church due to political campaigns.
This was during a fundraising ceremony aimed at contributing funds towards the construction of a Lay readers house where Bernard Zimbeihire, this http://cbangelfire.com/includes/footer.php Member of Parliament aspirant for Rubanda East county not only started campaigning in the middle of the service but also accused the incumbent area legislator Henry Musasizi for being behind the group that allegedly smashed a vehicle belonging to one Godfrey Ahabwe Pereza who was campaigning for Adson Kakuru an NRM candidate in the 2009 rukiga county by elections.
At the same function, http://coronaextra.com.au/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_gallery_display/interface.display_type_form.php the Kabale District Vice Chairperson, Mary Bebwajuba clashed with the Rubanda County East MP,Musasizi over who was responsible for Mulenga Development Kingdom Projects.
This comes in a week after the Uganda Joint Christian Council Directive banned all fundraising in churches in Kabale District. This directive was given by the acting chairperson His Grace Stanley Ntagali, the archbishop of the Church of Uganda
Many churches have however defied this directive and politicians are still using fundraising sessions to turn churches into political campaigning grounds. Christians have henceforth asked the Bishop of Kigezi George Bagamuhunda to intervene.
Henry Ariganyira Musasizi the Rubanda East MP has advised that such divisive politics is sham and urged Christians not to get involved.
