Kabale District offices of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) were on Monday burnt by yet to be identified people.
The arsonists, now being hunted, are said to have attempted to raze down the office buy setting a fire on one of the wooden windows of the office.
Brian Ampaire the Kabale district police commander says a man hunt has been launched for the culprits.
Ampaire says the office was luckily saved by neighbors who rushed in and put out the fire.
Amos Rwansheija the Kabale NRM administrator says nothing in the office was destroyed.
The Kabale NRM office located along the Kabale – Kisoro road was recently refurbished by the Kabale NRM chairman David Bahati who is also the state minister of finance.
Bahati recently during the Kabale district delegates conference at Kigezi college Butobere, said that the party in August this will begin building its own home in the former Kabale district staff quarters near Kabale stadium.
