Kabale NRM Boss Arrested Over Shs. 1.4Million

Edison Tukahabwa, the Kabale National Resistance Movement  (NRM) Publicity Secretary has been charged before the Kabale grade one magistrate for failure to clear a debt of 1.4 million shillings.

Tukahabwa, who is known locally as “Political,” was arrested on Wednesday morning by Basigyi High Court bailiffs at Kafunjo Primary school and produced before magistrate Raphael Vueni.

Prosecution told court that Tukahabwa failed to clear his debt of 1.4 million shillings that he owed to one Prisca Kantangizi even though he has been reminded several times.

The NRM boss asked to be given more time, informing court that he had managed to pay 2.3 million shillings of the 4million he agreed with the complainant after knocking him with his vehicle.

Magistrate Vueni allowed him to go back home after presenting two sureties Denis Nzeirwe the Kabale deputy RDC   and Maurice Mugenga Keitaba the Kabale NRM registrar.

He ordered him to pay the money by Friday or he would commit him to Ndorwa government prison.
