Kabale Catholic Diocese on the weekend received two new priests and two deacons at a priestly ordination held at Kakore Catholic Parish in Hamurwa sub county, Rubanda district.
Bishop Callistus Rubaramira was the chief celebrant at the ordination mass, also attended by Christians from all seven districts of Bunyoro that form Hoima diocese.
Those ordained into priesthood and immediately posted to different parishes are Fr. John Fisher Byomuhangi and Jeremiah Tumwijukye.
Augustine Munyandutse and Reverend Seminarian Benjamin Tukamushaba were ordained as Reverend Deacons.
Byomuhangi will be serving at Nyarushanje Parish while Tumwijukye will serve at Christ the King parish in Rukungiri municipality.
Bishop Rubaramira told the newly ordained priests that together with dozens of their colleagues in the diocese, they have a role to teach the people the word of God and guide them to strengthen their faith in the different parishes of work.
He asked the priests and deacons to be trusted servants of Jesus Christ using the gifts and blessings that they are accorded through their ordination.
Bishop Rubaramira also asked the Christians to support the diocese as its now facing problems in paying for the seminarians in major seminaries.
He noted that currently diocese has 63 seminarians in major seminaries but only 30 have sponsors.
David Bahati the State Minister of planning who was the guest of honor thanked the Anglican Church and the Catholic Church in the Kigezi sub region for uniting the people and ending the religious wars that were cropping up in the Kigezi sub region.
