The body of Kabale’s prominent businessman and elder John Bakaruhire Kamashara, who died on Monday at 79 has been laid to rest.
Kamashara passed away at Mulago National hospital just a day after he was admitted with gall bladder and heart complications.
The requiem service at All Saints church Kabale however, was held without the body, on advice from health officials.
John Kwesiga Kamashara, his son in his eulogy said his father had battled heart complications since 2008 and he was operated, before his gall bladder also developed complications.
Prime Minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, in his condolence message read for him by Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira, described the deceased as a strong pillar of Kabale, a man he said was development oriented and selfless.
Bakaruhire was later laid to rest at his ancestral home in Nyakambu, Kirigime in Kabale municipality. He left behind 9 children.
