State Finance Minister in charge of Planning, Hon David Bahati, has said his next term will focus on addressing poverty if re-elected as Member of Parliament, Ndorwa West , Kabale, South Western Uganda.
“In the coming days, we will outline our Manifesto about the developments we plan to continue undertaking in the next phase of our service,” said Bahati.
“But we are committed to continue supporting improvement of household incomes and bringing many more people into the money economy,” he emphasised.
He spoke this Thursday after being nominated as MP candidate for Ndorwa West on the NRM ticket.
“This nomination is a demonstration of the faith and confidence the people of Ndorwa West have in us. It is a sign of their continued commitment to support the NRM government to consolidate the achievements we have registered in Ndorwa West, in Kabale and the country at large,” said Bahati.
“I promise to continue what we started together– to represent your interests, concerns and voice in Parliament and to be the bridge to source, mobilize and coordinate opportunities and resources for the development of Ndorwa West.”
ChimpReports understands Ndorwa West continues to grapple with poor infrastructure and low household incomes which Bahati said would be addressed with the rehabilitation of major roads in the area which would ease movement of persons and goods to markets.
“The support and cooperation of the youth and the old, women and men and all people of good will in Ndorwa West has been responsible for the achievements we have registered since we started this journey of progress with you in 2006,” said Bahati.
He urged his supporters to “continue observing the prevention measures against COVID-19 so that even as we go into the full blast political activity, we remain vigilant to keep safe.”
