Two Head teachers in Kabale have been arrested for opening their schools before they were inspected.
The two are facing charges of disobeying lawful orders and committing and act that’s likely to spread infectious diseases.
The detained are Moses Tukamushaba, 41, the head teacher of Kigezi Cleverland High School and Leah Asiimwe, 39, the proprietor of Excel Modern Primary School in Kitumba sub county also in Kabale district.
Elly Maate the Kigezi regional police spokesman says the two were on Thursday arrested by the Kabale district schools inspection team headed by the Resident District Commissioner Darius Nandinda and the acting District Education Officer Moses Bwengye.
This was after the team visited the schools and found them not to have done anything as per the requirements necessary for reopening.
“Inspection is still going on and any school that will be found having opened without the inspection certificate to allow it do so, will be held responsible and owners charged accordingly,” said Maate.
