The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has appointed a new board and Executive Director for Buganda Land Board, the body in charge of managing land in the Kingdom.
Kingdom Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga announced last evening that Mr Martin Seremba Kasekende had been appointed as the Board ED replacing Mr Kyewalabye Male who was recently appointed as the Minister for the Kingdom in charge of Tourism.
Meanwhile Apollo Makubuya has been appointed was appointed chairman Buganda Land board
Members of the Board of governors include Mr John Kitenda, Mr Robert Kiggundu, Mr Mohamood Thobani, Mr Lwomwa Daniel Bbosa, Mrs Rehema Seguya, Mrs Eve Kasirye Alemu and Mr Levi Zimbe
According to the Katikiro the Kabaka appreciated the role played by the out doing Executive Director and Board, and asked the incoming members to emulate their predecessors and be exemplary to other departments in the kingdom
The change takes immediate effect.
Mr David Kyewalabye Male in the recent reshuffle by the Kabaka at the beginning of this year was appointed the new Minister for Tourism, Royal Tombs and Heritage replacing Denis Walusimbi Ssengendo who became the Cultural advisor in the Palace.
Engineer Martin Kasekende the new BLB boss served for a very long time as a Board chairman for the Board, holds a Master of Business Administration ESAMI from Arusha. He is a qualified Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Nairobi, a member of Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers, Registered with Engineer Registration Board, Uganda and he is also a fellow of the Permanent Way Institition.
Kasekende is a consultant Engineer at M&E Associates LTD, a board chairman of Uganda Clays, a board member at Federation of Uganda employees and SWICO as well as the chairman of Grants Committee of Skills Development Fund at Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU). He was a long serving CEO of National Housing and Construction Co. Ltd and has been the Chairman of Buganda Land Board since 2007.
