Justine Nameere’s Husband Sent to Luzira Prison After Taxify Fight

Controversial media personality Justine Nameere is in tears after her husband, Raymond Kagimba, was arrested and remanded to Luzira Prison over assault.

It all started with Nameere using Taxify application to call a taxi hire driver.

The Taxify driver chauffeured Nameere to her residence in Najjera near Kiira Town Council in Wakiso District.

On reaching her destination, Nameere was involved in a dispute with the Taxify driver over the amount of fare she was required to pay.

The driver insisted that the former NTV presenter had to pay the fare or face legal action.

According to police records obtained by ChimpLyf, Nameere jumped into her house without paying the fare.

Fearing the possibility of being diddled, the Taxify driver pursued Nameere only to find Kagimba in the house.

Kagimba reportedly beat up and chased the Taxify driver who had not been paid by his wife.

The driver would later rush to Kiira Division Police Station where he reported a case of assault.

Police eventually arrested Kagimba and grilled him for several hours. He denied the charge. Police issued a bond to Kagimba to allow for completion of the investigations into the incident.

Kagimba returned to Police on Tuesday as part of the bond requirements only to be informed that he had a “case to answer” for inflicting physical pain on the victim.

Kagimba was eventually rearrested, paraded before court and remanded to Luzira Prison for assault.

Police at Kiira Road Division Station referred ChimpLyf to the Police spokesperson Fred Enanga for comment.

He didn’t answer repeated calls to his known mobile telephone number.

Nevertheless, ChimpLyf was informed that Nameere is currently struggling to raise money for lawyers to rescue her husband.

“We are mobilizing resources because both Nameere and Kagimba didn’t immediately raise money for lawyers to manage this case. That’s how Kagimba ended up in jail. It’s a terrible moment for the couple,” said a family member.

This is not the first time Kagimba is being involved in controversies.

In 2009, Kagimba was sent to jail over unpaid debts.

Nameere made headlines last year when she launched a media war against NTV news anchor Faridah Nakazibwe. Nakazibwe had earlier accused Nameere of stalking her man.
