Neighboring Kenya has recorded its first death as the global Codiv19 pandemic tightens its grip on the East African region.
The country’s first patient who tested positive for the novel coronavirus passed away this afternoon.
Kenya’s Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced in a statement that the 66-year-old Kenyan citizen died at the Aga Khan Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
“The man who has been suffering from Diabetes had arrived in the country on March 13, 2020 from South Africa via Swaziland,” he said.
In Africa, Egypt which has over 450 cases has recorded the highest number of deaths at 21.
