John Byamukama: Express Unveil Eleventh Signing

Defensive midfielder John “Tooky” Byamukama has officially joined Six-time Uganda Premier League champions Express Football Club.

Byamukama joins the Red Eagles on a two-year contract, becoming their eleventh signing of the transfer window.

“We all know express fc is a historical club, I have joined the club to win titles and as a defensive midfielder, my role is to protect the back four which i’ll gladly do when given the opportunity,” Byamukama told the club website.

The midfielder spent two seasons at Tooro United and scored one goal with two assists from 15 games in the 2018/19 season before his performances greatly improved last season, scoring twice and getting four assists.

He had joined Tooro United from Bumate United but also had stints with Friends of Soccer Academy in Fort Portal and also Tooro province in the FUFA Drum Tournament.

He joins Denis Otim, Chrispus Kusiima, Richard Bbosa, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Abel Eturude, Isaac Nsengiyunva, Mustafa Kiragga, Charles Musige, Mahad Yaya Kakooza and Baker Sakah as other new players unveiled at the club.
