The NTV news anchor, Joel Ssenyonyi has left the Serena based television station.
ChimpReports understands that Ssenyonyi tendered his resignation to the management last week and it was finally granted to him on Thursday with a colorful cake cutting farewell.
The anchor who started his television career in 2006 from the national broadcaster, UBC, posted on his social media handles announcing the development.
“Today was my last day to anchor news at NTV. My journey with NTV begun 5yrs ago, and it has been nothing but worthwhile,” said Ssenyonyi.
He praised the station and the colleagues at NTV for being part of his family for last five years he spent there.
“I’ve grown, gotten better, made friends and enemies too in the course of my work. I’ll forever be grateful to my colleagues at NTV, they’ve been my other family & I’ll always cheer them on,” added Ssenyonyi.
He also recalled the time he spent on UBC at the beginning of his TV career.
“The 13 years I’ve spent in the media from my days at UBC-TV back in 2006 have been memorable. Thank you all for being supportive in this journey.”
NTV in a farewell message posted the cake cutting video and wished Ssenyonyi the best.
“Farewell to Joel Ssenyonyi. You’ve been so supportive during your time at NTV. We’ll miss having a wonderful colleague like you. Good luck in your future endeavors,” said post on NTV Facebook and Twitter.
The details of Ssenyonyi’s next move is still unknown but it’s understood that he is headed for greener pastures
