JMS Inks New Deal to Improve Drug Storage In Uganda

The Joint medical stores (JMS) has signed a partnership with   B Medical systems, one of the leading manufacturers of quality Cold Chain and Medical facilities in the world to promote standard drug storage facilities in the country.

Unveiling this partnership to the press this afternoon Dr. Bildard Baguma the Executive Director JMS revealed that this partnership will enable a number of health facilities in the country to get quality and medicine refrigerators at a relatively lower price.

“Most of the Health facilities have been facing a challenge of lack of stores for some medicines that need cold storage and an air conditioned transport facilities,” he said.

Baguma revealed in spite of this partnership, proprietors of these health facilities will not get the storage facilities free of charge but will be required to pay some money for the medical refrigerators.

“The Equipment is expected to boost Uganda’s progress in achieving the Global Vaccine Action Plan (GVAP) target of 90% national immunisation coverage by 2020” Baguma added.

Speaking at the launch of this partnership, Mr Obiely Tayoro the Sub Sahara Africa Regional Sales Manager applauded JMS for this achievement and promised to extend all the required support to register success from this initiative

Joint Medical services is a non-profit organization that came into existence 40 years ago by bringing together the Uganda Protestant and Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau to provide quality health supplies to medical facilities at a fair price.
