The Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) received a hefty donation from their counterparts from Japan.
On Friday, the Japan Volleyball Association in conjunction with the Uganda Diaspora Japan (UDJ) handed over 100 balls to the local federation.
Hadijah Namanda, the UVF President thanked the Japanese Volleyball Association for the gesture and promised to keep the partnership going.
“We are grateful to Japan Volleyball Association (JVA) for the kind gesture of the balls to Uganda volleyball Federation,” She said.
“On behalf of the Federation, we are humbled by the great partnership we have created and we hope it will last for ages,” Namanda added.
She also went ahead to thank several entities that made sure the balls arrived in Uganda.
“Thanks also go out to Sports for Tomorrow (SFT), Uganda Diaspora Japan (UDJ), Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and the Embassies of Japan in Uganda & Uganda in Japan for ensuring that the balls are safely delivered to UVF. Special mention to Mr. Takumi Kishi (SFT), Mr. Terunuma Yosuke (JVA), Mr. Livingstone Kyeyune (UDJ President), Mr. Oku Tatsumasa (Coordinator of Izumisano City Programmes in Uganda) for the great coordination,” Namanda noted.
The balls will be used across the different tournaments and competitions that the Federation oversees.
