The national men’s team, the Uganda Cranes, has received the new bus that the president promised last year.
The bus was purchased last month and was handed to FUFA by the first lady, Janet Museveni, on Tuesday at the State House in Nakasero.
The first lady was delighted to handover the new bus to the team and stated that it showed how much the government is committed to support and develop sports in the country.
“I hope that the team (Uganda Cranes) will be excited about this bus,” Museveni told the contingent led by the FUFA 1st Vice president Justus Mugisha.
” I am excited handing over this bus because it surely shows the Government’s commitment towards the development of sports in this country. I want to thank the Government and specifically the President for the immense support that has been extended to sports,” she added.
The handover ceremony was also attended by Ministry of Education and sports led by the Minister of State for Sports Charles Bakkabulindi, Chairman National Council of sports, Bosco Onyik and the acting General Secretary Dr. Patrick Bernard Ogwel, Minister of Youths Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi and Uganda Cranes vice-captain Hassan Wasswa.
