The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has mourned its former vice Rector Academic Affairs Dr. Abdul-Noor Kaliisa, who passed on Wednesday this week at his home in Kampala.
Dr. Kaliisa who has been a Muslim scholar and an NBS TV political analyst, served as a lecturer in the Departments of Political Science and Islamic Law, and as the vice Rector Academic Affairs between 2004 and 2006, according to the statement released by the University this afternoon.
“His contributions to IUIU are many and we pray to Allah to reward him most appropriately,” Dr. Ahmed Kawesa Sengendo, the University Rector said in the statement.
“We will all miss him greatly, we pray to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and reward him appropriately for his contributions towards IUIU, Muslim Ummah, and the humanity at large,” the statement added.
He will be buried tomorrow Friday November 6, in Ruhama, Ntungamo district.
