The Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland to Uganda, His Excellency William Carlos has Wednesday morning paid a courtesy call on the permanent secretary, Amb Patrick Mugoya.
Mugoya and his guest discussed matters of bilateral importance to the two countries.
They called for promotion and support of peace and security initiatives in the region, given Ireland’s membership in the United Nations (UN) Security Council.
The Irish Ambassador further assured Mugoya that the government of Ireland in cooperation with the European Union (EU) will continue working with Uganda to bolster economic and political ties between EU and Uganda.
The two principals concluded the meeting by encouraging increased bilateral cooperation in the form of exchanges of high level delegation visits both at technical and political levels between the two countries.
