Gabriella Bridget Ntaate is the other half of the new Live Wire duo on Spark TV. She is an extremely God-fearing young lady, principled, fierce and overly confident in the way she carries herself.
Gabby became a total orphan at a tender age after losing both her parents forcing her to grow up with her uncle and auntie who made sure she never lacked.
The light skinned assertive beauty who also passes off as a motormouth (perfect quality for her new job) never hesitated to confess that she has always desired to be in the limelight hence pursuing a career in TV.
She narrated to ChimpLyf her life story, love for God, her passions and how she feels about her new gig on Spark TV.
Tell us about yourself?
My name is Gabriella Bridget Ntaate born on 14/April/1992 in a family of 4 girls, 3 boys and am a Munyoro. I lost my parents when I was a kid, grew up in Kireka with my uncle and auntie. I did my PLE from Shimoni, my O’level from St. Lawrence, A’level from St. Noah Zana and did a bachelor’s in Library and Information Science at Makerere University plus a fashion designing course at Tina International School.
How were you like as a child?
I was very stubborn, naughty and very bossy most of the time.
Why abandon your career for TV?
I have always wanted the limelight, I hate being ordinary. Even in school I was always a leader so TV was a perfect dream for me.
Have you ever been on TV before this job on Spark TV?
Yes, for the past 4 years. I was in the studio 256 show, acted as nurse Fatima in ‘Second Chance’ and the grand finale of Burn it Up all shows on NTV.
How did you get the part of hosting Live Wire anyway?
They called me up for a screen test and I got lucky.
How did you feel when you got the part?
I was extremely excited and overwhelmed because it was not that easy.
Do you think you will be better than the previous presenters?
They were great but I am not here to live up to them, I was not employed to replace them. My job here is to be me.
Anything unique you are bringing to the show?
As I said before, we are all different, I must say we are not that loud. I believe it is just going to get better as we make sure that we deliver so expect a great show.
Any challenges on the show yet?
I would say criticism but it is not a challenge per say. There will always be haters, even those who do nothing are hated then what about me.
What inspires you to wake up every day?
The burning desire to make people’s lives better. I do everything for the glory of God and helping people in the best way that keeps me going.
When was your turning point?
When I lost my parents; I lost my mum when I was 8years and dad at 11years.
What are the qualities you look for in a man?
Before I look at a guy he must be God fearing; he must know the Lord at the level which I feel comfortable with. I rarely look at character because people adjust; if he fears God everything else falls in place.
Do you have someone special in your life?
(hesitates) yes, I do.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
God has lifted me to amazing places that I never dreamt of, even so, I know He is taking me somewhere really big because that’s what he desires that for me.
How have you managed to get where you are in life?
It is not because of what I do or know…it is by God’s grace.
You seem a strong believer, what is your religion?
I am a Seventh Day Adventist.
But seventh day Adventists are not allowed to make up or put jewelry…You look the opposite.
Says who? Well, its true but that does not define me. I respect what they do but am not one Christian who will look at someone and judge. I don’t put on jewelry in church but that does not stop me from putting on whatever I want.
What are your thoughts about sex before marriage?
I don’t believe in sex before marriage but I don’t judge people. I am not in position to judge.
What turns you off in a man?
When a man’s relationship with God is weak I really don’t want him near me. I also hate untidy guys; I know they say men don’t care, men are dirty; I don’t want a dirty man. Men should be tidy, shower because they are not animals; if they are, then they should go to the bush and stay there.
What are your thoughts on being a housewife?
I don’t have to think about it because I won’t do it. Am not about that life hahaha.
What else do you do besides TV?
I am a gospel artist actually. I have a band called ‘Mute Band’, and a fashion designer with a fashion line called Gadgenta fashion line.
What are some of your weaknesses?
I tend to be short tempered and impatient.
Lastly, what are your hobbies?
I love to sing, watch movies, music and seating by the water.
