Burundi U20 2-0 Uganda U17
Uganda Cubs suffered a 2-0 loss to Burundi U20 national team in an international friendly game played on Tuesday.
The Cubs succumbed to a superior and dominant Burundian side in the game played at Stade Prince Louis Rwagasore in Bujumbura.
Cedric Mavugo and Bienvenue Kanakimana scored the two goals for Burundi to win the encounter as both teams make preparations for upcoming tournaments.
The Cubs are in preparations ahead of the Total U17 Africa Cup of Nations slated for April 2019 in Tanzania while Burundi is preparing for Total U20 Africa Cup of Nations which will be hosted in Niger.
Uganda Cubs’ first assistant coach Jackson Magera cited positives from the international build up as quoted by FUFA website.
‘Although we have lost the game, I am impressed by the performance of the players. There are many aspects technically and tactically that we have to improve upon especially how to defend well and convert the created chances. We shall continue to improve as the preparations for the TOTAL U-17 AFCON finals go on’ Magera stated after the game.
