Buganda road court grade one Magistrate Stella Amabirisi has set the 8th November as the date she will commence hearing of the case in which FDC Women’s League Chairperson Ingrid Turinawe is accused of assaulting a Police Sergeant at CPS Kampala.
The Magistrate in her ruling on Wednesday issued criminal summons against Mrs Ingrid.
As the case appeared for mention in court, Ingrid was not in court.
Her lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde however, informed court that she couldn’t make it since she was under Police incarceration.
Ssemakadde revealed that she was arrested on Monday as she was heading to Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) meeting that was held in Namboole
The state Prosecution led by Miriam Njuki was ordered to disclose Ingrid’s lawyer with all evidence they intend to produce in court not later than today
Prosecution contends that on 4th August 2019 at Central Police station (CPS) Kampala, Ingrid assaulted Sergeant Patrick Alunyu thereby occasioning him bodily harm
Its further alleged that on the same date at CPS Ingrid did an act that caused annoyance or inconvenienced the public leading to conclusion that she was a common nuisance
