Romulus Tusingwire has been declared as the newly elected Guild President of Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
He overwhelmed three other contestants in a hotly contested vote.
The MUBS Guild Election Returning Officer declared Romulus as the winner with 3404 votes.
He was followed by Shenmark Mwesigwa of UYD/People Power who garnered 1370 votes. Forum for Democratic Change candidate Wisdom Ndinumukiza came third with 919 votes while NRM’s Douglas Aine obtained a fourth position collecting only 53 votes.
Tusingwire is succeeding Julius Ntende, the outgoing guild president leaned to Democratic party.
Police deployed heavily at the institution to curb any form of violence that could erupt.
